Alameda County Fair Opens with Concerts, Drone Shows, and Half a Million Expected Visitors

The Alameda County Fair launched Friday in Pleasanton, California, offering entertainment across carnival rides, live concerts, drone displays, and sports viewing experiences. Nearly 500,000 visitors are projected to attend over the fair's run, with organizers emphasizing security and economic impact for the region.

Entertainment Lineup and Main Attractions

The fair features a comprehensive entertainment schedule anchored by the Big O Tires Concert series. Headliners include the Beach Boys—performing with "Full House" actor John Stamos—alongside Flo Rida, Boyz II Men, En Vogue, and Collective Soul. A Twist on Taylor Swift tribute band rounds out the musical offerings.

Beyond concerts, the fairgrounds hosts action sports including a demolition derby (June 20-21), monster truck events (June 26-28), and Arena Cross Nationals racing (July 3 and 5). The carnival section features the signature 100-foot Vertigo circular spin, the Supershot freefall ride, The Orbiter with rotating arms, and The Invader alien-themed simulator. A full petting zoo includes goats, llamas, pigs, rabbits, and chickens, plus pony rides and pig races for younger attendees.

Nightly drone shows will illuminate the Michelob Ultra Grandstand throughout the fair, with a special shift to a massive fireworks display on July 4 celebrating the country's 250th anniversary. Family-friendly movies screen each evening on the Jumbotron, weather permitting, with scheduling adjusting for World Cup watch parties at multiple venues including the Mickelob Concert Lawn, Crafted Cocktails & Beer Bar, and the Farmhouse.

New attractions this year include a 9/11 Memorial Exhibit and a Time Capsule dedication ceremony.
