Television presenter Alan Carr has established himself as a resident of the Scottish Borders after acquiring Ayton Castle and has been actively engaging with the local community. The 50-year-old comedian's relocation is being filmed for a forthcoming Disney+ documentary series, with production handled by the creators of the popular farming documentary Clarkson's Farm.

Community Integration and Local Appearances

Days after marking his 50th birthday, Carr was photographed at the Allanton Inn, a historic 18th-century coaching establishment situated approximately ten miles from his newly acquired castle in Berwickshire. The pub's social media post documented his visit, with Carr playfully posing with the venue's signage in a manner that transformed "Allanton Inn" into "Alan'ton Inn" by obscuring one letter. Local community members and the village council responded positively to his presence, with residents describing his engagement with nearby businesses as beneficial for the regional profile.

Katrina Reynolds, who operates the Allanton Inn alongside her husband William, expressed enthusiasm about Carr's settlement in the area. She told Greatest Hits Radio that his patronage of local establishments was elevating Berwickshire's visibility. Prior to his pub visit, Carr had also been observed participating in water activities at Eyemouth.

Comedy Tour and Performance Schedule

Carr is performing his first ticketed show in the region at MacArts in Galashiels, a 150-seat venue where all tickets sold within two minutes of becoming available. He had recently contacted the former church venue to test new material with fellow comedians before launching his formal tour, titled "Have I Said Too Much?" Multiple dates across the United Kingdom, including performances at Edinburgh Playhouse and Manchester Opera House, have already achieved sold-out status. MacArts has earned recognition at the Scottish Live Music awards and has previously hosted comedian Jack Dee.
