Alison Hammond Defends 22-Year Age Gap with Boyfriend David Putman

Television presenter Alison Hammond has defended her relationship with David Putman, dismissing public scrutiny over their 22-year age gap. The 51-year-old This Morning host and the 28-year-old Russian model and massage therapist have been dating since 2023 and currently live together in London. Hammond stated the couple has no immediate plans to marry, emphasizing that their connection transcends external judgment.

In interviews with major outlets, Hammond expressed frustration with the selective attention paid to age-gap relationships. She highlighted a double standard, noting that significant age differences attract less criticism when the man is older. "I completely understand why people are interested when there's a 22-year gap," she told the Daily Mail UK. "But what I find interesting is that it's not as interesting when it's the man who is older. Why is that? I just want people to be happy for us. We are absolutely in love."

The couple met in December 2023 when Hammond booked a massage appointment and Putman took her booking, with the pair reportedly connecting immediately. Hammond has consistently emphasized the strength of their bond, describing Putman as having "the most beautiful energy" and crediting him with supporting her personal transformation. She told The Mirror: "I've got a lovely man in my life. It's just easy. I think that's when you know you've got something special. He just sees me for who I am. We choose each other, every day."

When asked directly about marriage, Hammond suggested the possibility remains open despite her current stance. "We live together, and we're happy the way it is. I don't need a ring to show my love to somebody. What I will say is, if he asked me tomorrow to marry him, it wouldn't be a 'no'," she previously stated. She added that she and Putman are "both cool" with their current arrangement and feel no societal pressure to formalize their commitment.
