Amazon Prime Settlement Payouts Require Action Before Deadline Approaches
Eligible Amazon Prime customers must file claims for the amazon prime subscription lawsuit payout before a fast-approaching deadline to receive compensation.

Amazon Prime customers who were enrolled in subscriptions between June 2019 and June 2025 have until July 27, 2026, to file claims for compensation from a $2.5 billion settlement. Eligible members can receive up to $51 each, provided they meet specific eligibility criteria related to their usage patterns and enrollment circumstances.
Settlement Background and Claims
The Federal Trade Commission filed a complaint in 2023 alleging that Amazon enrolled millions of customers in Prime subscriptions without explicit consent and deliberately complicated the cancellation process. The agency accused Amazon of employing "manipulative, coercive or deceptive user-interface designs" intended to deceive consumers into automatically-renewing subscriptions. Amazon did not admit liability but agreed to the settlement to "move forward and focus on innovating for customers," according to a company statement.
The settlement structure comprises two components: a $1 billion penalty to the FTC and $1.5 billion distributed directly to affected customers. In addition to financial compensation, Amazon committed to simplifying its subscription cancellation procedures to provide consumers with clearer, more straightforward options.
Eligibility Requirements and Claim Process
To qualify for compensation, claimants must satisfy four conditions. They must be U.S. residents who signed up for Prime between the specified dates, used between 3 and 10 Prime benefits during a 12-month period within that timeframe, and either enrolled through what the FTC deemed a problematic enrollment interface or attempted to cancel through one of those same interfaces.
Some customers already received automatic payments during the settlement's first phase. Current claimants can submit applications through Amazon's dedicated claims portal by providing either a claim ID and PIN or by supplying their name, address, and account details. Amazon will review each submission within 30 days, with approved payments distributed by September.
