Actress and comedian Amy Sedaris has reconnected with Jennifer Lopez for the Netflix workplace comedy Office Romance, more than two decades after they first appeared together in the 2002 film Maid in Manhattan. At the world premiere of the upcoming series, Sedaris reflected on her co-star's distinctive on-set behavior and shared personal memories from their earlier collaboration.

A Memorable Partnership Rekindled

Sedaris and Lopez first worked together in Maid in Manhattan, where the latter starred opposite Ralph Fiennes in a romantic comedy centered on a hotel maid whose life transforms after meeting a wealthy politician. The supporting cast included Natasha Richardson, Stanley Tucci, and Bob Hoskins. Now, the pair have reunited for Office Romance, which also features Brett Goldstein in the cast lineup.

Speaking to People magazine at the premiere, Sedaris recalled a distinctive characteristic of her co-star during the earlier production. "Singers sing. So between takes, she'd be humming or singing," Sedaris explained, describing Lopez's presence on set during filming of the 2002 movie. The comedian's observation provides an intimate glimpse into the working environment on the romantic comedy's set.

Grief and Gratitude on Set

Beyond the professional details, Sedaris revealed that Maid in Manhattan held deep personal significance during a difficult chapter of her life. "I really had a great experience on that movie. So it was a fun movie to work on because I was grieving," she told the outlet, referencing the loss of her pet rabbit during production. Despite navigating personal loss, she described the filming experience as meaningful and rewarding.

The 65-year-old actress also offered a lighter reflection on the production period, joking about her appearance in the early 2000s. "I had a really hot tan during that movie. I really wish I had one now," she quipped to the publication.

A Smaller Role, a Bigger Reunion

For Office Romance, Sedaris took on a smaller part but expressed satisfaction with the decision to participate. "I like doing things, you get a small part. You get in, you get out, but it was good to see her again," Sedaris said. She praised Lopez's performance in the upcoming comedy, noting that "the days I was there and she was working, it looked like real and funny." The film is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on June 5.
