Bangkok's Public House presents a six-day acoustic music gathering from October 20-25, bringing together folk traditions including bluegrass, Irish trad, and old-time music with limited seating for 100 attendees. The event features workshops, jam sessions, and intimate performances where the boundary between performer and audience blurs throughout the week.

Festival Structure and Programming

The festival opens with The Pickin' Parlour, three consecutive evenings beginning October 20, each centered around a single musician, instrument, or thematic focus. The upstairs venue provides city views as backdrop for these introductory sessions. The main festival weekend launches Friday with a Welcome Jam and Free Flow session designed to break the ice, followed by an extended Saturday schedule and a gentler Sunday featuring Songs & Stories paired with brunch service.

Musicians will perform on banjos, fiddles, mandolins, guitars, flutes, harps, and other traditional instruments, with performances rooted in established folk music traditions. Participants include both international musicians and performers from Thailand, catering to a growing Bangkok audience dedicated to roots music.

Attendance and Pricing

The festival operates at limited capacity, with the previous edition selling out quickly. Ticket pricing ranges from 999 to 3,299 baht, available through the venue's ticketing system. The intimate scale allows attendees to observe performers closely, catching intricate fingerwork and musical nuance impossible in larger venues. One child under 12 attends free with each paying adult, though organizers request that parents maintain a respectful listening environment given the unplugged nature of performances.
