Bannan departed Sheffield Wednesday in January for an undisclosed fee following the club's entry into administration. He signed an 18-month contract at Millwall, where he made 18 appearances during the club's eventual third-place Championship finish before losing in the playoff semi-finals against Hull City. The midfielder completed his medical at St George's Park this week alongside fellow new signing Di'Shon Bernard and assistant coach Craig Mudd.
