Callum Powell Receives Suspended Sentence for Possessing Nearly 3,000 Child Sex Abuse Images
Callum Powell, a parkour athlete with 11 million YouTube followers, received a suspended sentence for downloading nearly 3,000 child sex abuse images.

A prominent parkour YouTuber has been spared immediate imprisonment after pleading guilty to possessing nearly 3,000 child sexual abuse images over a two-year period. Callum Powell, 34, who had amassed 11 million followers as part of the Storror collective, received a suspended sentence at Brighton Magistrates' Court following his admission that he downloaded the material for sexual gratification.
The Court Case and Sentencing
District Judge Amanda Kelly handed down the sentence after Powell initially denied deliberately seeking the images, claiming he may have obtained them inadvertently through an artificial intelligence programme designed to remove clothing from Instagram photos he had downloaded. However, Powell subsequently admitted to knowingly obtaining sexual gratification from images of children and pleaded guilty to all charges.
Judge Kelly stated that while Powell did not directly abuse children, his behaviour contributed to the ongoing exploitation of real victims. She noted that the images represented the "utmost gravity" and that each viewing perpetuated demand for child abuse material. Powell demonstrated a sustained sexual interest in children over a significant period, the court heard. His defence lawyer, Steve Wedd, told the court that the situation had "destroyed" Powell's personal life, leaving him having "lost everything — his good name, his friendships, 20 years of friendships in Storror."
Professional Consequences
Storror, the seven-athlete parkour group that produced films of running, jumping, and vault stunts online, removed Powell from the collective with immediate effect after learning of the matter in May. The court heard that Powell, once a popular and well-known figure in Brighton, has been "shunned" by former colleagues and friends of two decades. Powell attended his sentencing wearing a grey hoodie, appearing to disguise himself in public as he faced significant social ostracism and loss of income from his online platform.
