Colo Colo has officially secured the services of Vozinha, the Cape Verdean goalkeeper whose World Cup displays propelled him to worldwide recognition. The Chilean club's governing company announced the move, with the 40-year-old set to undergo standard medical examinations before being formally introduced. Club president Anibal Mosa confirmed that transfer negotiations have concluded and the player will travel to Chile within days.

Vozinha, whose real name is Josimar Dias, emerged as an unexpected international figure following Cape Verde's World Cup campaign. His standout performance came on June 15 when Cape Verde held defending European champion Spain to a goalless draw—a historic result as the nation's first World Cup match. The goalkeeper made seven saves in that encounter, establishing himself as the primary reason his nation avoided defeat against Luis de la Fuente's squad. Cape Verde subsequently drew 2-2 with Uruguay and 0-0 with Saudi Arabia before being eliminated in the round of 16 by Argentina, a match that extended to extra time before finishing 3-2.

The goalkeeper's social media presence exploded following these performances. Vozinha accumulated approximately 29 million Instagram followers after the World Cup, surpassing the official accounts of major national teams including France (19 million), Brazil (27 million), Argentina (18 million), and Spain (over 8 million).
