Bueckers Clears Medical Protocols

The 20-point-per-game scorer was sidelined for the Wings' heartbreaking overtime loss to the New York Liberty, in which the defending championship contenders allowed a nine-point fourth quarter collapse. Bueckers sustained her injury during Sunday's victory over the Sparks but was initially deemed questionable for Wednesday's game. Coach Jose Fernandez confirmed she has been cleared from concussion protocol and will face no restrictions when she returns to action.

The two-day absence was precautionary, allowing her to recover from soreness that lingered after the back-to-back contests. With Bueckers sidelined, teammate Arike Ogunbowale carried the offensive load against Liberty, scoring 20 points including two clutch free throws with three seconds remaining in regulation.

Wings Seek Momentum Before All-Star Pause

Dallas enters the matchup with a 17-9 record after their six-game winning streak ended in Monday's defeat. The Wings are sending two representatives to Saturday's All-Star Game: Bueckers and Jessica Shepard, who contributed 13 points, 16 rebounds and six assists in the Liberty loss. Bueckers is averaging 20.9 points, 4.2 rebounds and 6.2 assists while shooting 51.8 percent from the field and 38.5 percent from three-point range across 24 games this season.

Portland arrives with an 11-15 record following a 101-93 defeat to the Minnesota Lynx, the league's best team. The Fire demonstrated offensive balance in that loss, with three starters surpassing 20 points, led by Bridget Carleton's 22-point effort paired with eight rebounds and three steals. Carla Leite and Sara Ashlee Barker each added 21 points, though the effort fell short against Minnesota.
