Dua Lipa Marries Callum Turner in Sicily with Custom Chanel Haute Couture Wedding Dress

Singer Dua Lipa and actor Callum Turner exchanged vows on June 6 at Villa Valguarnera, an 18th-century Sicilian palace, with the bride wearing a custom Chanel haute couture gown designed by Matthieu Blazy. The ceremony represented the culmination of a three-day Italian wedding celebration, preceded by a private civil ceremony in London the previous week.

The Main Ceremony Gown

Lipa's wedding dress featured an intricate low back and sweeping train adorned with feathers and crystals. The haute couture creation required extraordinary craftsmanship: Atelier Montex hand-embroidered 480,000 beads into the fabric, while the embellishment atelier Lesage spent 1,155 hours crafting trompe-l'oeil jewels. Lemarié contributed 25,000 feathers underlined into the design, and the six-meter tulle veil was hand-embroidered with beads and feathers enhanced by hand-cut organza appliqués. Custom white satin pumps from Massaro completed the ensemble. Turner wore a bespoke Louis Vuitton suit.

The gown marked the first Chanel haute couture wedding dress designed by Blazy for a personal acquaintance of the fashion house. The dress was handcrafted at the ateliers on Rue Cambon in Paris, with the two-meter train representing a centerpiece of the overall design.

Multi-Day Wedding Celebration

The couple's wedding weekend showcased multiple haute couture looks. At Friday evening welcome drinks in Palermo, Lipa wore a custom Bottega Veneta halterneck gown in white leather featuring the house's signature intrecciato weave and a feathery skirt, accessorized with a matching feathery clutch and gold Bulgari jewelry. For the Sunday wedding brunch, she selected a sheer custom Chloé dress crafted from floral lace, paired with a whimsical swan purse.

The previous week's London civil ceremony featured Lipa in a custom Schiaparelli haute couture skirt suit finished with golden bijoux buttons and paired with Christian Louboutin stilettos, white gloves, and a custom hat by milliner Stephen Jones—a look referencing Bianca Jagger's Yves Saint Laurent wedding ensemble. Turner wore a bespoke Ferragamo suit by Maximilian Davis for that ceremony.

The Sicilian wedding reportedly involved approximately $1.73 million in expenses. Villa Valguarnera, commissioned in 1712 by Anna Gravina, Princess of Gravina and Valguarnera, sits atop a hill overlooking the Gulf of Palermo.
