EasyJet Expands Winter Network Across UK Airports with Iceland, Lapland, and Mediterranean Routes

EasyJet has unveiled 13 new winter routes across UK airports, connecting regional hubs to popular European and Mediterranean destinations. The expansion includes services to Reykjavik and Kittilä from Liverpool, plus five routes from Newcastle Airport including Barcelona, Berlin, and Copenhagen.

Liverpool Airport Expansion

Liverpool John Lennon Airport will welcome two new winter destinations via easyJet starting this year. Flights to Reykjavik commence on November 2nd, operating twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays, offering passengers access to Iceland's geothermal attractions, volcanic landscapes, and Northern Lights viewing opportunities. The Blue Lagoon and other geothermal lagoons remain primary draws for winter visitors seeking thermal experiences.

Kittilä in Finnish Lapland launches on November 25th with twice-weekly Wednesday and Saturday departures. The destination appeals to families seeking festive experiences, featuring snow-covered forests, husky sledding, snowmobiling, and skiing at nearby Levi resort. Kittilä serves as the gateway to traditional Arctic winter activities and Father Christmas-themed attractions. Newcastle Airport Winter Programme

Newcastle Airport, which established its easyJet base in March 2026, is introducing five additional winter routes this season. Barcelona service begins October 25th with twice-weekly Friday and Sunday flights. Copenhagen launches November 5th on Thursdays and Sundays, while Berlin operates Mondays and Fridays from November 20th. Hurghada beach holidays start October 27th on Tuesdays and Saturdays, and Rovaniemi in Finnish Lapland begins November 25th with Wednesday and Sunday services.

Newcastle's easyJet base has expanded the airport's network from 12 routes to 31 destinations since its establishment. The new routes offer city breaks, winter sun, and Arctic experiences. Holiday packages to Barcelona, Berlin, Copenhagen, and Hurghada include 23-kilogram luggage allowances and hotel transfers for beach destinations.

Broader UK Network Growth

The expansion represents continued investment in regional UK airports. Liverpool's network has grown to 41 routes across 18 countries through easyJet's presence. Both airports now offer passengers direct access to winter sun, cultural city experiences, and seasonal Arctic attractions without London connections.
