Netflix has begun filming Harlan Coben's Myron Bolitar series in New York, marking the author's latest collaboration with the streaming platform and his first project designed to potentially span multiple seasons. The production commenced this week with crews spotted on Manhattan's Upper East Side, bringing the decades-old book character to screen for the first time.

Cast and Creative Team

Colin Woodell, known for his role in The Flight Attendant, will portray Myron Bolitar, a former NBA player who reinvented himself as a sports agent navigating high-stakes client negotiations and personal investigations. Riverdale actor KJ Apa joins the ensemble as Win Lockwood, Bolitar's resourceful best friend, while Diane Guerrero from Orange Is The New Black rounds out the core cast as Esperanza Diaz, a former wrestler working in sports management.

David E Kelley, the acclaimed creator behind Ally McBeal and Big Little Lies, serves as showrunner, executive producer, and writer alongside Kyle Long. Coben himself noted that assembling this particular cast proved more complex than his previous adaptations, stating the character has held personal significance throughout his writing career.

Source Material and Season Structure

The first season will draw primarily from Drop Shot, the second book in Coben's Myron Bolitar series, which originally debuted in 1995 with Deal Breaker. The character has appeared across 12 novels exploring blackmail, murder investigations, and complex client relationships.

Coben distinguished this project from his other Netflix works—including I Will Find You, Run Away, and Fool Me Once—by confirming his openness to multiple seasons. He explained that his previous adaptations were intentionally designed as limited series with no plans for continuation unless superior stories emerged. The Myron Bolitar structure mirrors the source material itself, allowing for sustained storytelling across multiple installments if audience reception supports production renewal. A release date has not yet been disclosed.
