Johnny Knoxville has publicly addressed the continued absence of Bam Margera from the latest Jackass release, stating the skateboarder and stunt performer declined an offer to participate. The estrangement between the two key cast members stems from events surrounding the 2022 film Jackass Forever, where Margera was excluded due to personal struggles.

The Invitation and Margera's Response

In a recent Esquire interview, Knoxville explained the situation surrounding Margera's non-appearance in Jackass: Best and Last. According to Knoxville's account, Margera received an invitation to contribute new material for the film but chose not to accept it. Knoxville expressed respect for the decision while indicating that the entire cast had hoped for Margera's involvement. The only footage featuring Margera in the current release consists of an outtake filmed in 2020, which was not newly created for this production.

Margera has presented a contrasting version of events. Speaking to Rolling Stone, he attributed his exclusion to decisions made by Knoxville and director Jeff Tremaine rather than his own choice. Margera claimed that the producers failed to uphold their end of an agreement that would have allowed him to appear if he completed a rehabilitation program. He stated that while he holds no animosity toward other cast members, he has no intention of reconciling with the two decision-makers.
