The Design Process

Dennings documented her nail setup on Sunday, showcasing a pink silicone mat equipped with a gel lamp, multiple polishes, various tools, and both silver and gold studs. She captioned the workspace photo with "Nail time is my favorite time," signaling her enthusiasm for the creative project. The final design featured French tips with accent designs across each nail, creating a cohesive yet individual aesthetic.

In an interview with Allure, Dennings explained her motivation: she had read multiple articles positioning bare nails as fashionable due to their association with either being too busy for grooming or the high cost of professional manicures. Her response was deliberate. "I saw a picture of a rainbow pierced manicure and was inspired to try," she stated. "I also have been wanting silver chrome, so I just decided to combine the two." The actress admitted she struggled with the chrome application and had to redo a couple of nails, but ultimately triumphed.

From Necessity to Creative Outlet

Dennings revealed that she began doing her own nails years ago out of financial necessity, unable to afford regular salon visits. Even now that professional manicures are within her budget, she continues the practice. "It's just my creative outlet," she told Allure. Each nail featured freestyled designs that maintained visual cohesion while remaining distinctly different from one another.
