The King will ride in a recently restored double-decker tram numbered 18, recognised as the world's oldest operating tramcar of its kind. The Isle of Man visit coincides with growing public disapproval of the Palace's decision to deny Prince Harry accommodation at Buckingham Palace during his planned UK visit. According to recent polling, 48% of British adults believe Harry should be permitted to stay at the royal residence, while only 27% support the ban. The Palace attributed the decision to missed deadlines affecting logistical arrangements, but the explanation has not resonated with the broader public.

Critics argue the decision portrays King Charles as acting from personal grievance rather than statecraft.
