For Seryeon Lee, a recent arrival from South Korea, Belfast's enthusiasm for Korean culture has facilitated identity affirmation and social integration. She reported discovering that her heritage receives genuine appreciation, easing friendship formation and encouraging locals to learn Korean language skills. Her own perspective shifted after arriving; while not previously a K-pop enthusiast, community connections transformed her into an active participant, deepening her pride in Korean identity while building lasting friendships.
