Man Dies After Falling From Upper Level During Goose Concert at Madison Square Garden

A 51-year-old man died after falling from an elevated section of Madison Square Garden during a Goose concert on Saturday night. Police discovered the unconscious concertgoer at approximately 9:51 p.m., and he was transported to Bellevue Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The specific distance of the fall has not been disclosed by authorities.

The incident occurred during the second night of Goose's two-night engagement at the iconic New York City venue as part of their summer tour spanning 27 concerts across 19 cities in the United States and Canada. Venue staff cleared at least seven rows in the area surrounding where the fall took place, according to photographs shared on social media by attendees. Multiple concertgoers reported hearing the impact and witnessing the event, with some choosing to leave the venue immediately afterward.

The Connecticut-based rock band—composed of Rick Mitarotonda, Trevor Weeks, Peter Anspach, and Cotter Ellis—released a statement expressing their response to the tragedy. The band wrote that they were "deeply saddened and heartbroken to learn of the tragic event" and extended sympathy to everyone affected. They also thanked emergency personnel and venue staff for their immediate response and support during the crisis.

Despite the fatal incident, the concert proceeded with the band performing their complete 16-song setlist, concluding shortly before midnight. The performance was being livestreamed on Amazon Music at the time of the incident. A second Goose show is scheduled at Madison Square Garden, continuing the band's tour commitments.
