Marshals has secured its Season 2 premiere date for October 4, 2026, on CBS, marking the return of Luke Grimes as Kayce Dutton in the Yellowstone spinoff. The season opener will air at 8:30 p.m. ET rather than the show's standard 8 p.m. timeslot, a scheduling adjustment driven by CBS's NFL doubleheader coverage that evening.

Premiere Details and Schedule Adjustment

The October 4 premiere begins half an hour later than usual due to a crowded CBS sports and news lineup. The network is broadcasting an NFL doubleheader followed by 60 Minutes at 7:30 p.m. ET, pushing Marshals to the 8:30 p.m. ET slot. West Coast viewers will maintain their standard 8 p.m. PT broadcast time. The Season 4 premiere of Tracker closes the evening at 9:30 p.m. ET.

The time shift applies only to premiere night. Beginning October 11, Marshals returns to its regular 8 p.m. ET start time, with Tracker following at 9 p.m. Subsequent episodes will also be available for streaming on Paramount+.

Season 2 follows Kayce's continued work with an elite U.S. Marshals unit, a departure from his life managing the Yellowstone Ranch. The first season evolved from episodic case-of-the-week storytelling into deeper character exploration, examining Kayce's grief and identity after his ranching roots are no longer central to his existence.

Production for the new season commenced in Park City, Utah, in June 2024. The quick renewal—announced just weeks after Season 1 premiered—indicated strong viewership and network confidence. The Season 1 finale left multiple characters in precarious circumstances, including Kayce's son Tate in the custody of rival rancher Tom Weaver, and teammates Cal and Belle held at gunpoint by Weaver's operatives. The fates of these characters remain undisclosed ahead of the Season 2 premiere.
