The Mission to the Moon 1969 model will be produced in only 1,969 units, priced at £520, and distributed exclusively through an application process requiring completion of a 32-question examination within two hours and fifteen minutes.

Gold From the Apollo Era

The defining characteristic of this new timepiece lies in its material composition. Rather than applying gold as a cosmetic element, Swatch integrated Moonshine Gold—Omega's proprietary yellow gold alloy known for its pale appearance and fade resistance—into the dial, hands, crown, and pushers. The total weight of these gold components reaches 11 grams, drawn entirely from Omega spare parts melted down and reformed through Swatch's in-house foundry.

The pricing structure carries historical significance. Swatch calculated the retail price of £520 based on the cost of 11 grams of gold in 1969, when the Apollo 11 mission launched on 21 July. At that time, the equivalent purchase power was approximately 48 Swiss francs (roughly £11). Today's market value for the same amount of 18-karat gold exceeds £800, making the limited availability and application-based distribution system central to the watch's exclusivity.

The watch maintains visual continuity with Omega's Speedmaster Professional lineage, incorporating the same distinctive hand design as the 2019 Speedmaster Apollo 11 50th Anniversary edition.
