Parklife Festival Returns to Manchester with Calvin Harris Headlining

Parklife festival returns to Heaton Park in Manchester this weekend as a major music event drawing more than 80,000 attendees. Scottish DJ Calvin Harris will headline on Sunday, marking his return to the festival after a decade away. The two-day event runs Saturday through Sunday with performances from grime artist Skepta, pop vocalist Zara Larsson, and electronic producer Sammy Virji across five main stages.

What to Expect This Weekend

Gates open at noon on Saturday, running until 11 p.m., while Sunday operations begin an hour later at 1 p.m. and close at the same time. Last entry both days is 5 p.m., with no re-entry permitted once visitors leave the grounds. Attendees aged under 17 must be accompanied by a guardian aged 18 or over. Festival organisers advise early arrival between 11 a.m. and noon to join queues before headline acts take the main Valley stage.

The festival features performances from established and emerging artists including Chris Stussy, Josh Baker, Nia Archives, and Kettama alongside the headliners. Set times and full stage schedules are available through the Parklife App. Weather forecasts suggest temperatures around 26 degrees Celsius, encouraging attendees to bring sun protection.

Getting There and Transport Options

Heaton Park sits approximately five miles north of Manchester city centre. Walking from the city centre takes roughly 50 minutes along a signposted route on Bury Old Road. The festival maintains two main entrance and exit gates: the West Gate on Bury Old Road and the East Gate on Sheepfoot Lane.

Coach services operate from 32 locations across the United Kingdom through Big Green Coach, covering cities from London Victoria to Glasgow and numerous towns throughout the Midlands and North. Manchester's Bee Network provides Parklife Travel Passes for £8, offering access to buses, trams, and the dedicated Parklife Shuttle Bus. Metrolink trams depart Victoria station every seven minutes heading to Heaton Park during daytime hours, with return services operating until 9 p.m.
