Rupert Lowe Proposes Coalition with Nigel Farage to Counter Left-Wing Politics

Restore Britain leader Rupert Lowe has called on Nigel Farage to set aside personal differences and form a political partnership to counter what he describes as a threatening left-wing coalition. The proposal, outlined in a video statement, includes five specific policy conditions that would govern any cooperation between Reform UK and Restore Britain. Lowe founded Restore Britain in February with backing from Elon Musk and was among five Reform MPs elected in 2024 before being suspended in March following bullying allegations, which he has denied.

Five-Point Alliance Framework

Lowe's conditional framework addresses migration, cultural policy, welfare reform, political accountability, and constitutional change. His first condition demands that illegal migration be reversed entirely, going beyond simply halting new arrivals. He stated that "every illegal migrant must be deported," framing this as essential given what he characterizes as demographic urgency.

The second condition centers on what Lowe calls "demographic security" and reversing what he terms the "Islamification of Britain." This includes banning the burqa, halal and kosher slaughter practices, cousin marriage, and sharia courts. Lowe cited unspecified demographic projections suggesting white Britons could become a minority, describing this outcome as "demographic vandalism."

His third demand calls for a public referendum on reintroducing capital punishment. Lowe insisted the British population be granted "a full, free, and fair referendum" on the death penalty. The fourth condition requires commitment to "restoring a self-sufficient Britain" through welfare cuts and inflation control, with Lowe warning that "enormous cuts" and "difficult, unpopular decisions" would be necessary.

The fifth condition addresses political trust, explicitly excluding former Conservative ministers from any future cabinet. Lowe argued that these politicians "had their chance" and failed the country in significant ways.

Reform's Response and Electoral Context

Farage has framed the coming electoral period as "an existential fight to save the country" and indicated that Reform UK would need support from multiple movements, former Labour and Conservative voters, and first-time voters to achieve victory. He described the coalition he is building as "broad," suggesting openness to cross-party cooperation.

The alliance proposal follows Restore Britain's fourth-place finish in the Greater Manchester mayoral byelection, where its candidate Marlon West secured 8.7 percent of the vote. Reform's candidate Sian Astley came second with 21 percent, behind Labour's winner Bev Craig. Lowe pointed to existing cooperation between Reform and Restore on Norfolk county council as evidence that national collaboration could succeed.
