Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus and Alexander Zverev of Germany will lead the National Bank Open draws in Toronto and Montreal respectively, Tennis Canada announced Monday. Sabalenka anchors the women's tournament in Toronto as a four-time Grand Slam champion, while Zverev, fresh from winning his first Grand Slam title at the French Open, heads the men's field in Montreal.

Women's Draw Lineup

The Toronto women's event brings together an elite assembly of talent. Sabalenka is joined by Elena Rybakina of Kazakhstan, Jessica Pegula and Coco Gauff of the United States, and Mirra Andreeva of Russia—collectively representing the top five players in world rankings. Leylah Fernandez serves as the highest-ranked Canadian competitor at the 30th seeding. The defending champion, Victoria Mboko, will be absent due to a knee injury.

Men's Tournament Landscape

Montreal's men's draw reflects an intriguing competitive dynamic. Zverev's seeding positions him as the top contender after his French Open triumph, though he subsequently lost to Jannik Sinner in the Wimbledon final. The tournament notably lacks world number one Sinner, third-ranked Carlos Alcaraz, and fifth-seeded Novak Djokovic. The remaining top five seeds include Felix Auger-Aliassime of Canada at fourth, Alex de Minaur of Australia at sixth, Daniil Medvedev of Russia at seventh, and defending champion Ben Shelton of the United States at eighth.

Draws for both events are scheduled for Friday, with qualifying rounds taking place Saturday. The main draw commences Sunday. Zverev previously claimed the Montreal title in 2017, providing him with experience navigating the championship course.
