Selena Gomez Launches Rare Beginnings Fragrance with Customizable Layering Balms

Selena Gomez has expanded her Rare Beauty fragrance portfolio with the launch of Rare Beginnings Eau de Parfum and two accompanying Fragrance Layering Balms, both designed to let consumers create personalized scent combinations. The new products became available Friday through RareBeauty.com and Sephora.com, offering customers flexibility in how they wear and layer their fragrance.

Product Design and Scent Profile

Rare Beginnings Eau de Parfum features a fruity floral composition built around pear nectar, pistachio, gardenia, jasmine, and warm vanilla bean. The fragrance is accompanied by two distinct layering balms: Sweet Marshmallow, combining orchid, marshmallow, and musk, and Fruity Pear, blending pear, lotus blossom, and white wood. Each balm can be worn independently or layered with the eau de parfum to customize the overall scent experience.

The bottle design mirrors the ergonomic shape of Gomez's original perfume release, featuring gold hardware and complementary packaging colors. The Fruity Pear balm comes in a yellow-green tube, while the Sweet Marshmallow is housed in a pinkish-white container.

Creative Inspiration Behind the Launch

Gomez explained her vision for the collection in a brand statement:

"I try to look at each day as a new opportunity. There's always something beautiful ahead. I wanted this fragrance to capture that feeling of possibility, so bright and sweet."

The collection represents the second fragrance offering under the Rare Beauty umbrella, extending Gomez's existing product lines that include makeup and skincare items distributed through major retailers including Sephora and specialty beauty platforms.
