The timing change creates an unusual situation where SSI recipients will receive two payments in July—their regular July benefit and their August benefit advanced to July 31. No separate SSI check will be issued during the calendar month of August itself. The September payment will resume the standard schedule on September 1.

Different Rules for Regular Social Security
