Toronto Blue Jays Dominate MLB All-Star Voting with Six Players Positioned for Philadelphia Selection
Six Toronto Blue Jays rank in the top-two vote-getters at their positions in MLB all-star voting following the first round of balloting.

Six Toronto Blue Jays players occupy top-two voting positions across their respective American League slots following the first round of MLB all-star voting announced Monday, with Vladimir Guerrero Jr. leading first base and Ernie Clement commanding second base with commanding vote totals. The All-Star Game will be held July 14 at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, with additional voting rounds to follow before rosters are finalized.
Guerrero Jr. accumulated 603,014 votes at first base, edging out the New York Yankees' Ben Rice, who received 509,830 votes. Clement's dominance proved more pronounced at second base, collecting 904,702 votes—over 600,000 more than Texas Rangers second baseman Ezequiel Duran in the runner-up position. The 30-year-old Clement is in line for his first All-Star appearance after a strong season batting .304 with seven home runs and an American League-leading 20 doubles.
Beyond the two front-runners, four additional Blue Jays players secured second-place finishes at their positions: catcher Alejandro Kirk, shortstop Andres Gimenez, third baseman Kazuma Okamoto, and designated hitter George Springer. Guerrero Jr., seeking his sixth consecutive All-Star selection, has posted a .280 batting average with three home runs and a .738 on-base-plus-slugging percentage through the early portion of the season.
The Blue Jays' strong showing in All-Star voting contrasts sharply with their 34-38 record and third-place standing in the American League East through 72 games. The team has faced significant roster disruptions, with injuries preventing the club from fielding a fully healthy lineup. Despite roster turnover that included departures and additions such as pitcher Dylan Cease and infielder Kazuma Okamoto, the squad has struggled during the first half of the season, maintaining support from Canadian fan bases that have propelled their players up the voting tallies.
Houston Astros designated hitter Yordan Alvarez holds the highest vote total across the American League with 1,015,768 votes, while Los Angeles Dodgers designated hitter Shohei Ohtani leads the National League with 1,165,133 votes. Voting continues ahead of the mid-summer classic, with fan ballots determining the starting lineups and contributing to reserve selections alongside manager and player voting.
