West Indies have announced a 15-member squad for their upcoming one-day international series against Sri Lanka, featuring the return of several high-profile players including Shimron Hetmyer and Alzarri Joseph. The three-match series, beginning June 3 at Sabina Park in Jamaica, carries significant implications for both nations' pursuit of automatic qualification for the 2027 ODI World Cup.

Hetmyer's inclusion marks his comeback to ODI cricket following an absence since June 2025. The batsman impressed during the T20 World Cup 2026, accumulating 248 runs at an average of 41.33 with a strike rate of 186.46. However, his recent IPL campaign with Rajasthan Royals raised concerns, as he failed to score more than 22 runs across eight innings for the franchise.

Alzarri Joseph returns after a prolonged absence due to a back injury sustained last year. Gudakesh Motie also rejoins the squad following his omission from the New Zealand tour. Fast bowlers Jayden Seales and Shamar Joseph complete the pace attack, with their workloads managed by Cricket West Indies. Seales was West Indies' leading ODI wicket-taker during the New Zealand campaign, while Shamar missed that tour due to a shoulder complaint.

West Indies arrive at this series riding an unbeaten run at home, having won their last five consecutive ODI series on their own soil.
