Will Forte kicked a real turkey during a dramatic Thanksgiving scene in The Four Seasons season 2, completing the challenging stunt on the first attempt. The 55-year-old actor revealed that the experience left him with an unpleasant odor lasting roughly a week.

The Scene and the Stunt

In episode 5 of the Netflix comedy, titled "Big Thanksgiving," Forte's character Jack experiences a full meltdown during the friend group's holiday meal. His outburst stems from ongoing friendship tensions and miscommunication with his wife, Kate, played by Tina Fey. Confronting Colman Domingo's character Danny, Jack grabs the prepared turkey, storms outside, and punts it across the lawn in front of everyone before falling down the front steps and injuring his foot—a plot point that threatens his marathon training.

The production required meticulous coordination. Multiple cameras were positioned around the set because the crew could not guarantee how many takes would be needed, and the aftermath involved substantial cleanup. Despite the logistical challenges and physical demands of the stunt work, Forte managed to nail the shot on his first attempt. "Somehow we rehearsed it enough that I was able to do it, I believe, on the first take," he explained.

The Physical Aftermath

Forte spoke candidly about the cost of authenticity. "That was a real turkey," he confirmed to People magazine. "When would I ever have a chance to kick a turkey?" he joked, adding with a laugh that "my foot did smell for like a week, because I don't shower." His costars Marco Calvani and Erika Henningsen appeared to enjoy watching the sequence unfold on set, with Henningsen noting that Forte "really has to bear the brunt" of the physical comedy throughout the season.

The Four Seasons season 2 arrives following the first installment's tragic conclusion, in which Steve Carell's character Nick dies, leaving the group in mourning. The new episodes explore how the surviving characters navigate grief and changed dynamics within their friendship circle.

Forte's Other Projects

Beyond The Four Seasons, Forte is also appearing in the Looney Tunes film Coyote vs. Acme, set for theatrical release on August 28. The live-action and animated hybrid, directed by Dave Green, includes a cast featuring Lana Condor and John Cena alongside Forte. The film was initially shelved by Warner Bros. in 2023 before being acquired by Ketchup Entertainment for distribution.
