WNBA Standings Feature Legends and Rising Stars in 2026 All-Star Shooting Competition

Four teams representing Minnesota, Seattle, Washington, and Dallas/Detroit will compete in the Kia WNBA Shooting Stars on July 24, with the competition featuring Hall of Famers Elena Delle Donne and Lauren Jackson alongside current All-Stars and rising rookies. The timed shooting event will air live on ESPN from Wintrust Arena in Chicago as part of the All-Star weekend festivities preceding the main All-Star Game the following evening.

Competition Format and Participants

The Shooting Stars Contest operates as a two-round, timed competition where each team has 70 seconds to score as many points as possible from seven shooting locations around the court. The shooting sequence ranges from layups to long-range three-pointers, with the two teams posting the highest scores in the opening round advancing to the championship round.

The four teams bring together distinct generations of women's basketball talent. The Minnesota team pairs three-time WNBA MVP Lauren Jackson with five-time champion Rebekkah Brunson. Seattle features Jackson alongside standout rookie Flau'jae Johnson of the Seattle Storm. Washington combines two-time WNBA MVP Elena Delle Donne with 2022 All-Rookie Team selection Shakira Austin of the Washington Mystics. The Dallas/Detroit team celebrates franchise history by pairing three-time champion Deanna "Tweety" Nolan—who won titles with the Detroit Shock in 2003, 2006, and 2008—with current Dallas Wings All-Star forward Jessica Shepard.

Bridging Generations of Talent

Each team also includes a standout high school player from the Nike Girls Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL), bringing three generations of women's basketball into one competition. The high school participants are Jezelle "GG" Banks, Ryan Carter, Tatianna Griffin, and Morghan Reckley. Honorary General Managers Cynthia Cooper and Teresa Weatherspoon will serve as designated passers during the event.

The Shooting Stars Contest and State Farm WNBA 3-Point Contest will broadcast from Wintrust Arena on July 24 at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN, Disney+, and the ESPN App. The competitions precede the 2026 AT&T WNBA All-Star Game, scheduled for July 25 at United Center in Chicago at 8:30 p.m. ET on ABC, Disney+, and the ESPN App. Shepard will continue her All-Star weekend participation by competing in the All-Star Game alongside star guard Paige Bueckers, while rookie guard Azzi Fudd will compete in the 3-Point Contest.
