The Ferrari driver addressed speculation about Verstappen's future at Red Bull, confirming that while he currently enjoys his partnership with Lewis Hamilton, he would embrace the challenge of facing the four-time world champion as a teammate.

A Rivalry Transformed

Leclerc and Verstappen share a history dating back to their junior racing days. The pair faced off across multiple karting categories beginning in 2010 before progressing to Formula 1. During their early encounters, the relationship was fraught with tension. Leclerc acknowledged that he once believed Verstappen was "a bad person," and the sentiment was reciprocated.

That dynamic has fundamentally shifted over the years as both drivers matured within the sport. Leclerc emphasized that their relationship has evolved considerably, moving beyond the hostilities of their junior racing period.
