What Happened

The incident occurred Saturday night when surveillance staff observed a child leaving a log on the flume ride and triggered an emergency response. The ride was temporarily shut down to assist the guest and address the situation. Disneyland officials stated that the event was appropriately handled by cast members, characterizing the temporary halt as a standard safety protocol.

The quick response from monitoring personnel proved critical, as the emergency stop prevented the log from reaching the ride's signature 52-foot waterfall descent. The ride remained closed following the incident while safety procedures were executed.

Pattern of Incidents

This marks the second reported unauthorized exit by a child in roughly one month. The previous incident occurred when a 13-year-old exited a log and fell down the waterfall, resulting in hospitalization. Between these two child-related exits, an adult guest also exited a ride vehicle on the same attraction, bringing the total to three unauthorized vehicle exits within a compressed timeframe.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure opened at Disneyland in November 2024 as the successor to Splash Mountain, inheriting the log flume format with its 52-foot drop and characteristic open-log vehicles that feature single-file seating and no lap bars or seat belts. The ride achieved immediate popularity with guests praising its theming and animatronics.
