Singh described the experience as "everything fracturing and then falling apart," during which he struggled to understand who he truly was beneath the identity he had constructed. He noted that what he had imagined as happiness belonged to others, not himself. His marriage of seven years subsequently ended, and he faced the challenge of disclosing his identity to family and friends.

Singh attributed his entry into television to a creative impulse that emerged while working full-time as a junior doctor. He responded to a BBC advertisement seeking a young people's medical consultant and seized the opportunity to explore broadcasting alongside his clinical practice. This dual career has since expanded, encompassing appearances on This Morning and his role as resident medic on Morning Live since 2020.

In 2018, Singh competed on Strictly Come Dancing, where he advocated for a same-sex pairing but was ultimately matched with professional dancer Janette Manrara, reaching the seventh week of competition. Two years after his appearance, the BBC introduced same-sex couples to the show's format. When asked about returning to the competition, Singh stated he would "jump at the chance" to participate again under the updated rules.

Singh is currently in a relationship with actor James Colebrook. Recently, he clarified speculation about his absence from Morning Live, explaining that he is pursuing corporate partnerships that require him to step back from the BBC program to adhere to on-screen editorial guidelines.
