The Challenge and Setting

The eight semi-finalists were split into three teams and required to prepare all three courses from a menu designed by judge Anna Haugh. The meal was served to 100 guests gathered inside Station Hall, the museum's 6,000-square-meter exhibition space. Craig Bentley, Director of the National Railway Museum, attended the event and described it as a "once-in-a-lifetime experience" that allowed the institution to showcase its newly refurbished facilities to the BBC production crew, presenters, and home audiences.

Station Hall underwent an extensive architectural and structural overhaul timed to coincide with the National Railway Museum's 50th anniversary. The space houses the museum's collection of six Royal Train carriages, displayed since 1990. The hall also features significant historical artefacts, including a WH Smith bookstall from London's Waterloo Station dating to 1921 and the funeral wreath from the locomotive that carried Queen Victoria's coffin in 1901.
