Hulk Hogan Death Investigation Concludes With Natural Causes Verdict

An 11-month investigation by Florida police into the death of WWE wrestling legend Hulk Hogan has officially concluded that he died from natural causes, with investigators finding no evidence of criminal activity. The Clearwater Police Department released its findings, including a comprehensive 70-page case report, after conducting extensive interviews and reviewing multiple recordings throughout the investigation.

Hogan, whose real name was Terry Bollea, died at his residence in Clearwater, Florida on July 24, 2025. According to the police report, he had been recovering from multiple recent surgeries and was in declining health during his final weeks. On the day of his death, Hogan was in the company of his wife, Sky, and two healthcare workers when he suddenly stopped breathing while seated in his recliner. Sky immediately contacted emergency services while one of the medical professionals initiated CPR before paramedics transported him to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

Rob Shaw, a spokesperson for the Clearwater Police Department, acknowledged the cooperation of Hogan's family members—Sky, Nick, and Brooke—along with their attorney Kevin Hayslett. Shaw stated that the family's willingness to provide access to personal information and records during their period of grief was instrumental to the investigation's thoroughness. A private autopsy determined that Hogan died "exclusively from compelling natural disease, with no reasonable traumatic or terminal toxicologic contributions," effectively ruling out trauma, foul play, or drug-related causes.

The family's cooperation proved essential, as Shaw noted that investigators would not have obtained legal justification for much of the information reviewed without explicit permission. The release of the detailed case report brings formal closure to an investigation that had attracted public attention, particularly after Hogan's daughter, Brooke, publicly expressed concerns about the circumstances surrounding his death in the months following his passing. The official conclusion now provides clarity to questions that had lingered since his death.
