Henderson's commitment to Texas A&M came after a dramatic reversal in his recruitment timeline. Less than two weeks before his pledge, the 6-foot-1, 218-pound linebacker had decommitted from Miami, signaling strong interest in Notre Dame. The Irish had scheduled an official visit for Henderson this past weekend, positioning themselves as favorites to land his commitment. However, Texas A&M accelerated its recruiting efforts, convincing Henderson to move up his decision and ultimately choose the Aggies.

The rapid shift underscores the unpredictability of elite high school recruiting. Notre Dame currently has no linebackers committed in its 2027 class, as previous verbal commitments at the position have since decommitted. The program faces the immediate challenge of rebuilding its linebacker recruiting board heading into the final stretch of the 2027 cycle.

Texas A&M's Dominant Recruiting Class

Henderson's addition strengthens what coaches and analysts already consider the most dominant recruiting class in the nation. Texas A&M, led by head coach Mike Elko, now holds six five-star commitments.
