Kalshi Launches Election Hub to Track 2026 Midterm Races Through Prediction Markets
Kalshi launched a midterms hub combining prediction market odds with polling and fundraising data for tracking 2026 House, Senate and gubernatorial races.

Kalshi, a federally regulated prediction market exchange, has launched a new hub designed to track outcomes in 2026 midterm races through real-money trading contracts, marking a shift in how political observers monitor campaign momentum. The platform combines live market odds, polling averages, fundraising data and curated news into a single dashboard covering House, Senate and gubernatorial contests. Unlike traditional polls that capture voter sentiment at a single moment, prediction markets update continuously as traders react to debates, endorsements and breaking news.
How Prediction Markets Differ From Polling
Kalshi co-founder and CEO Tarek Mansour, a former Citadel trader and Goldman Sachs analyst, characterized prediction markets as resistant to political bias. "Prediction markets don't care about spin or partisanship," Mansour stated. "They cut through polarization and show you what the wisdom of the crowds actually believes, backed by real money, not rhetoric." The company argues this dynamic approach captures shifts in campaign momentum that periodic polling alone may miss.
The midterms hub represents an expansion of Kalshi's political offerings. The company introduced its "American Power Index" in May, positioning it as an "S&P 500" for tracking which political party is gaining or losing strength. More than $30 million has already been traded on contracts tied to which party will control the House and Senate following the midterm elections.
User Adoption Beyond Trading
A significant portion of Kalshi's audience uses the platform as an informational resource rather than a trading venue. Approximately 75 percent of platform visitors monitor election forecasts without placing wagers, according to company data. This trend suggests prediction markets are gaining acceptance as a supplementary forecasting tool alongside conventional polling methodologies. The hub also features Federal Election Commission fundraising reports for individual candidates, allowing users to cross-reference market sentiment against candidate resources.
Kalshi plans to expand the platform beyond the 2026 midterm elections, with the goal of making it a permanent destination for tracking U.S. political races. The launch reflects a broader shift in election forecasting infrastructure, particularly as observers anticipate another spike in prediction market volume during the midterm season—a pattern that emerged during the 2024 presidential election cycle.
