Kilmarnock Relocates Premier Sports Cup Home Matches to Install New Hybrid Grass Pitch

Kilmarnock Football Club has confirmed that its two home matches in the Premier Sports Cup group stage will be played at Auchinleck Talbot's Beechwood Park, as the club proceeds with significant pitch renovation work at Rugby Park to install a new hybrid grass surface.

Match Details and Scheduling

The Premiership side will face Raith Rovers on Tuesday, July 14 and Hamilton Academical on Tuesday, July 21, with both fixtures commencing at 7:45pm. The temporary venue, Beechwood Park, has a capacity of 4,000 and serves as the home ground of Lowland League West club Auchinleck Talbot.

Kilmarnock's away fixtures remain unchanged. The club will travel to Elgin City on Saturday, July 18 and Peterhead on Saturday, July 25, with both matches scheduled for 3pm kick-offs. Together, these four group stage encounters form the club's commitments under the tournament format organised by manager Neil McCann's side.

Stadium Infrastructure Project

The relocation has been necessary due to ongoing hybrid grass pitch installation at Rugby Park. This upgrade represents a significant infrastructure investment for the club, requiring the temporary displacement of home fixtures during the early phase of the group stage competition. Kilmarnock acknowledged the accommodation provided by Auchinleck Talbot, expressing gratitude for their cooperation in facilitating the arrangement.
