The club has prepared a £100 million offer for Barcola while also assessing conditions for a move by the 18-year-old Mbaye, with new manager Andoni Iraola prioritizing wide players in his first transfer window at Anfield.

Bradley Barcola represents an established option for Liverpool's left-wing position. The 23-year-old French international joined PSG from Lyon in 2023 for £38.5 million and has since accumulated significant silverware, including three Ligue 1 titles, two French Cups, the UEFA Super Cup, and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup. Liverpool have offered approximately £100 million for Barcola, though PSG value the winger closer to £145 million. The price gap reflects his proven pedigree, though limited playing time at PSG due to competition from fellow wingers Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Desire Doue makes a move potentially beneficial for his development. Barcola can operate across multiple attacking positions—left wing, right wing, or through the center—though he naturally favors the left flank with his right foot.

The Mbaye Opportunity

Liverpool's interest in Ibrahim Mbaye operates independently from the Barcola negotiations. The 18-year-old Senegalese international predominantly plays on the right wing, addressing a specific positional need created by Salah's exit. Mbaye emerged through PSG's youth system and made his senior debut in August 2024 at just 16 years old. He represented Senegal at the recent World Cup, becoming the youngest African player to score in the tournament at 18 years and 143 days, demonstrating his early potential on the international stage.

According to transfer analysis, Mbaye presents a more natural positional fit than Barcola for what Liverpool require this summer. His versatility across both flanks and earlier career stage align with Iraola's strategy of building a development-focused squad.
