Arrest and Charges
Wenske was taken into custody after investigators discovered multiple online posts and an email containing violent language directed at Kirk and attendees of the upcoming event. Court records indicate his bond has been set at a combined $120,000. According to charging documents, he responded to a social media post about the Women's Leadership Summit by writing "I know exactly where to bomb," followed by additional threats in separate comments and correspondence.
In one email sent from an account registered to Wenske, he wrote: "Death to Erika Kirk and every single speaker there!! America will live on without those scum on this earth. Every Christian nationalist shall perish in the bombing that will take place at every single Turning Point rally and event." A second social media post from Wenske contained language referencing Kirk's security detail.
Event Details and Response
The Women's Leadership Summit will take place June 5–7 at the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter on the River Walk, with Kirk serving as a keynote speaker. The organization stated it expects more than 2,500 attendees. In response to the threats, a Turning Point USA spokesperson emphasized that the organization prioritizes attendee safety through enhanced security measures involving both private security and local law enforcement. "We refuse to let threats silence us," the statement said.
Kirk became CEO of Turning Point USA following the death of her husband, Charlie Kirk, who was fatally shot at a Turning Point event in Utah last September. She has since maintained a visible leadership role within the organization.
