Pardoned January 6 Rioter Jake Lang Arrested on Terroristic Threat Charges in Dallas
Jake Lang, a pardoned January 6 Capitol rioter, was arrested in Dallas County and charged with making terroristic threats.

Jake Lang, a far-right social media influencer pardoned for his role in the January 6 Capitol attack, was arrested in Dallas County and charged with making terroristic threats. The 30-year-old faces a felony charge of terroristic threat to place the public in fear of serious bodily injury, interrupt public services, or influence a government. Bail has been set at $1 million, according to jail records.
The Arrest and Allegations
Lang was taken into custody by Texas Department of Public Safety officers and transported to the Dallas County jail. According to a representative statement posted on social media, Lang was removed from an airplane and handcuffed. The representative claimed Lang was arrested for stating that if the jury did not find the defendant guilty, he "would take care of it himself."
The remarks appeared connected to the high-profile murder case of 19-year-old Karmelo Anthony, who was convicted and sentenced to 35 years in prison for fatally stabbing 17-year-old Austin Metcalf at a Frisco track meet. The case drew significant national attention and sparked divisive racial rhetoric online. Anthony is Black; Metcalf was white.
Pattern of Activity Around the Trial
This arrest marks the second time in June that Lang has faced criminal charges connected to the Anthony case. On June 2, he was arrested in Frisco and charged with criminal trespassing near the George A. Purefoy Municipal Center at Frisco City Hall during a "Rally Against Rednecks." He was released from Collin County jail on June 3 on a $7,500 bond with conditions prohibiting him from approaching the courthouse.
Lang's involvement in the case extends further back. Last April, he organized a "Protect White Americans" rally outside the stadium where Metcalf was stabbed. He later posted a video claiming he had breached the stadium and pointed to a dark mark on the ground, alleging it was Metcalf's blood. School district officials stated the video was filmed on the opposite side of the stadium from the actual incident. During the trial itself, Lang appeared near the courthouse holding a sign reading "White Lives Matter" with Metcalf's photograph, despite his bond restrictions.
Prior Legal History
Lang served approximately four years in federal prison following his arrest in connection with the January 6 Capitol riot. He faced an 11-count indictment that included charges of assaulting law enforcement officers with a baseball bat. He received a presidential pardon before his sentence was completed. Additionally, he faces a separate felony charge in Minnesota for allegedly destroying a "Prosecute ICE" ice sculpture at the Minnesota State Capitol, a work created by a veteran advocacy organization. If convicted in that case, he could face up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
