The cooperative adventure comes from House House, the studio behind indie hits Untitled Goose Game and Push Me Pull You. The remaining titles in August's PlayStation Plus Essential lineup remain unconfirmed, with Sony expected to reveal the complete monthly roster on July 29.

Big Walk is designed as a long-form cooperative experience built around teamwork and communication rather than competitive gameplay. The game features an open world where players solve environmental puzzles, complete challenges, and use various tools to progress through the adventure. House House and publisher Panic emphasize that the game works best when played with a consistent group of friends over multiple sessions, avoiding random matchmaking entirely.

The developers describe Big Walk as both "a big adventure and a nice place to hang out," focusing on how players interact and problem-solve together.
