Ryan Glover Completes Move from Barnet to Stockport County on Three-Year Deal

Winger Ryan Glover has joined League One club Stockport County from National League and League Two side Barnet, agreeing a three-year deal following the club's appointment of new manager Jimmy McNulty. The 25-year-old made 94 appearances for Barnet, scoring 14 goals and providing 20 assists across two seasons. Glover was instrumental in the Bees' return to the Football League after a seven-year absence.

Barnet's Record Performer

Glover arrived at Barnet from Aldershot Town in summer 2024 and proved an immediate impact player. During the club's National League title-winning campaign, he appeared in all but one fixture and scored eight critical goals, including doubles against Sutton United and strikes in both matches against Yeovil Town and Oldham Athletic. His performances earned him the player-of-the-season award for the championship-winning season.

The Yeovil-born winger maintained his excellence following Barnet's promotion to League Two. He started all 46 league fixtures in the club's first season back in the Football League, helping the Bees secure a ninth-place finish and nearly reach the play-off positions. His EFL debut goal came in a 2-1 away victory at Crewe Alexandra, with further strikes against Accrington Stanley, Bristol Rovers, and Oldham Athletic. He claimed the player-of-the-season award for a second consecutive year, cementing his status as one of Barnet's standout performers.

Stockport's First Post-Playoff Signing

Stockport appointed McNulty as manager on Friday, days after the club's 4-1 defeat to Bolton in the League One play-off final. Glover represents the club's first signing under the new regime. McNulty praised the winger's attributes, describing him as a talented, versatile and dynamic player who works extremely hard for his team on and off the ball.

Barnet head coach Dean Brennan acknowledged the difficulty of losing a key player but expressed understanding of Glover's desire to progress. He described the winger as one of the club's great success stories and noted his professionalism and alignment with the Bees' values during his 24-month tenure.
