England batter Tammy Beaumont has announced her retirement from international cricket, effective after the Test match against India starting at Lord's on Friday. The 35-year-old will conclude a 17-year international career during which she became England's leading ODI centurion with 12 hundreds. She will continue playing domestic cricket with the Birmingham Phoenix and The Blaze.

A Career Defined by Multiple Format Mastery

Beaumont debuted for England in 2009 and accumulated 260 international appearances across all three formats. She holds membership in an elite group alongside former captain Heather Knight—the only two English women to score international centuries in Tests, one-day internationals, and Twenty20s. Her Test record includes a career-defining double-century of 208 against Australia at Trent Bridge during the 2023 Women's Ashes series, making her the first English woman to achieve this milestone.

Among her earliest career achievements was selection as part of the inaugural group of England women to receive central contracts in 2014. She reached another career pinnacle when named Player of the Tournament at the 2017 ICC Women's World Cup at Lord's, where she scored 410 runs as England claimed the title on home soil. Since moving to open the batting in 2016, Beaumont became a cornerstone of England's top order until losing her place in the Commonwealth Games squad in 2022.
