Tubi Expands UK Library with 900 Films and Television Episodes from Major Producers

Fox-owned streaming service Tubi has bolstered its United Kingdom content library by acquiring more than 900 television episodes and films through multiple production and distribution partnerships. The expansion signals aggressive growth in the European market less than a year after the platform's UK launch.

Major Content Acquisitions

Fremantle, a leading content producer, has provided Tubi with access to multiple unscripted franchises including Australian version of Farmer Wants A Wife, Canadian property Farming for Love, Storage Wars: Northern Treasures, Black Gold, Monster Garage, Motor City Motors, and Verminators. The agreement represents one of the platform's largest content deals in the region to date.

Additional partnerships expand the library further. 800 Pound Gorilla Media has licensed comedy specials including performances by Ivo Graham, Paddy Young, Tom Allen, and feature film The Carpark. True Crime UK, operating under the CBS AMC Networks UK Channels Partnership, has provided true crime documentary series such as Citizen Detective, Evidence of Evil, and Murder: First on Scene. Next Up has contributed stand-up comedy specials from Milton Jones, Stewart Francis, and Ed Byrne, among other titles.

Platform Growth and Strategy

Tubi launched its UK service in July 2024 and currently offers more than 75,000 movies and television episodes at no cost to viewers. The platform operates as an AVOD (advertising-supported video on demand) service and introduced a collection of branded FAST channels late in the previous year. Ross Appleton, general manager of Tubi UK, described the latest acquisitions as evidence of "strategic momentum" achieved in the market, emphasizing the company's position as the leading AVOD platform in Europe for catalog expansion.

The investment reflects a longer-term commitment to the UK market, with the platform focusing on delivering content across multiple genres including reality television, true crime, comedy, and entertainment franchises that appeal to diverse audience demographics.
