Regulatory documentation reveals that the iPhone 18 Pro Max will carry a 5,391mAh battery in China and 5,567mAh in the United States. The variance stems from China's retained physical SIM tray, which occupies space that the U.S. model dedicates to battery capacity. This represents approximately a 10 percent increase compared to the iPhone 17 Pro Max generation.

The standard iPhone 18 Pro will also receive a battery upgrade, moving to 4,288mAh in the U.S. market and 4,056mAh in China, compared to 4,252mAh and 3,988mAh respectively in the current Pro model. However, the battery expansion in the Pro Max variant is the more significant development.
