Boeing and Airbus Prepare Major Displays for Farnborough Airshow 2026 in Hampshire
Boeing and Airbus will headline the Farnborough Airshow 2026 in Hampshire from July 20-24, featuring next-generation military and commercial aircraft.

Boeing and Airbus will showcase their latest commercial and military platforms at the Farnborough International Airshow, running July 20–24 at Farnborough Airport in Hampshire. The event is expected to generate significant aircraft orders, with Etihad Airways rumoured to confirm a deal for additional Boeing 787 Dreamliners. The flying display will feature the US Air Force Lockheed Martin F-35A Lightning II, a heritage Rolls-Royce Vickers Supermarine Spitfire PR.Mk.XIX, and Airbus's A350-1000 widebody jet.

Boeing's Expanded Defense and Commercial Presence
Boeing will occupy a substantial footprint at the airshow, with exhibit hall C-620 serving as the centerpiece for the company's portfolio. The manufacturer is bringing an interactive full-size 777X cabin section to showcase the commercial jet's expanded interior dimensions. For military customers and observers, Boeing will debut the MQ-28 Ghost Bat uncrewed collaborative combat aircraft on static display, marking its first public appearance at a major international airshow. The Ghost Bat is designed to work alongside crewed fighters in roles including surveillance, electronic warfare, and tactical support.
Additional defense assets include a UK Joint Aviation Command CH-47 Chinook helicopter and a T-7 flight deck simulator, which will allow visitors to experience the fighter trainer's capabilities firsthand. Boeing president and chief executive officer Kelly Ortberg emphasized the company's strategic focus: "At Farnborough, we look forward to reconnecting with our customers and suppliers, and strengthening our international partnerships — including Boeing's more than 85-year commitment to the United Kingdom."
Expected Aircraft Deals and Airbus Competition
The airshow traditionally generates major commercial announcements, and industry observers expect significant orders to be disclosed during the five-day event. Etihad Airways is anticipated to confirm a purchase of ten additional Boeing 787 Dreamliners, expanding an existing fleet that already includes both the 787-9 and stretched 787-10 variants. Airbus will counter with its A350-1000 widebody as the centerpiece of its commercial display. Qatar Airways had planned to bring a Boeing 777-300ER and Gulfstream G700 but withdrew from the airshow following the death of a former Qatari Emir.
Military Heritage and Next-Generation Aviation
The flying display programme reflects the industry's evolution across multiple segments. Alongside cutting-edge military jets and uncrewed systems, the airshow will celebrate aviation heritage with the Spitfire PR.Mk.XIX, a reconnaissance variant of the legendary World War II fighter. This blend of frontline capability and historical significance aims to demonstrate how the aerospace sector continues to advance both defence and commercial aviation technology. Boeing's exhibit will also feature the Cascade Climate Impact Model, a data visualization tool addressing sustainability pathways as aviation expands globally.
