Dr. Courtney Shah, a seven-time champion on jeopardy!, has passed away peacefully at her home. Shah spent nearly two decades teaching U.S. and World History at Lower Columbia College in Washington, where she was also a published author and coordinator of the college's Community Conversations program. The educator achieved her championship run during the guest-hosting stint of Dr. Sanjay Gupta, accumulating $118,558 in winnings that were matched as a donation to Odyssey Atlanta.

Shah joined Lower Columbia College in 2007 and became a fixture within both the academic community and the Portland-area trivia scene.
