The newborn joins a growing family network that includes seven cousins from her aunts' households. The pregnancy extended beyond the typical 40-week gestation, reaching week 41 before medical staff induced labor. Lola Belen arrived in the afternoon hours on July 22, with both madre and child reported in stable condition immediately following delivery. Pombo described the early postpartum period as emotionally intense, acknowledging the challenge of sleep deprivation and the psychological adjustment to motherhood despite her prior experience as an aunt to seven children.

Family Celebration at the Hospital

Sisters Marta and Maria Pombo arrived at the Madrid hospital within days of the birth to meet their niece. The family gathering included their father, Victor Pombo, as well as spouses Luis Zamalloa and Alvaro Lopez-Huerta. The visits marked a moment Pombo described as a pleasant surprise, arriving after the new familia had settled into their first days as a three-person household. By the time relatives gathered, medical staff had cleared both madre and infant for discharge, with the family departing the hospital on foot.

The Extended Family Network

Lola Belen's arrival expands the Pombo family's youngest generation. She was born approximately six months after Mariana, daughter of sister Maria Pombo and Pablo Castellano. Marta Pombo's twins, Candela and Maria, age three, will serve as playmates, as will Vega and Matilda, also age three. The newborn holds the distinction of being the first female child born to Lucia, while her cousins include Martin, age five—the only male grandchild in the household of their paternal grandparents.
