Rebecca Ferguson has confirmed that her entire involvement in Dune: Part Three consists of a single scene, which audiences have already seen in the film's official trailer. The actress, who played Lady Jessica across the first two Dune films, disclosed the limited scope of her role during recent interviews. Ferguson noted that the scene featured in promotional materials represents the complete extent of her appearance in the upcoming installment directed by Denis Villeneuve.

The Role and Source Material

Lady Jessica was originally absent from the screenplay for Dune: Part Three. Villeneuve made the creative decision to include the character in just one scene, according to Ferguson's account. This choice aligns with Frank Herbert's source material, Dune Messiah, where Lady Jessica maintains a marginal presence throughout the narrative. The novel progresses years after Paul's rise to power, following the consequences of the interstellar conflict that concluded the previous story, with the Bene Gesserit mother existing largely on the periphery of events.

Ferguson's Candid Experience

Ferguson has been transparent about the unusual sensation of returning to a production she knew intimately while recognizing her diminished participation.
